A mix of Indian and Middle Eastern dishes at The Kebab Factory

I came to this point where I need to find HALAL restaurants because one of my colleagues from Malaysia is a Muslim and supposed to stay here for 3 months. As a preparation for his stay, I search over the internet the list of Halal restaurants around Makati and Taguig area, where we will be roaming most of the time. As we all know, It is rare to find a certified Halal restaurants here in the Philippines. And because of that, I feel the pressure and headache where to bring our client every single day. Of course I don’t want to bring him to the same place over and over again. But sometimes I do, especially if there’s no other option.

Since we were at Mapua Makati most of the time, The Kebab Factory is such a blessing to me. It is a mix of Indian and Middle Eastern food where you can find one of its branch at Jazz Mall along Jupiter cor. Bel-air, Makati.

So here’s my review:

Trio Dip

Trio Dip (₱300.00)

It is one of the best starters in their menu and a must try for 1st timers. Trio Dip is served with Hummus, Baba Ganoush and Spinach Dip with Pita bread. I can say it’s a perfect combination because for the 1st time I tried this one, I can’t help myself but to eat a lot especially the Spinach dip.

Beef Shawarma

Beef Shawarma (₱195.00)

Beef and Chicken Shawarma
Beef and Chicken Shawarma (₱195.00)

Their Shawarma is served with the freshest and crispiest vegetables, beef served into thick strips, though I can’t taste more of the chicken maybe because I put too much dips. And a siding of fries is a plus. It is very delicious especially if you put Yogurt Garlic Dip and add a little bit of spice of the Chili Dip that will surely give you a little kick.

Lamb Kebab

Lamb Kebab (₱280.00)

As much as I want to finish the whole thing, I just can’t force myself since the serving is really big! And as I’ve mentioned earlier, I can’t stop myself from eating too much of the Trio Dip since I was mesmerized with the taste. There are a lot of Kebab variety however I always go for the Lamb. It is so tender meaty and flavorful and I think I just had a very good choice on this. The juicy minced lamb marinated and roasted in a Tandoor oven is a thumbs up for me.

Chicken Makanwala in Cheese Naan

Chicken Makanwala(₱320.00) | Cheese Naan (₱65.00)

My love for yogurt and butter makes me order this one. Chicken Makanwala is made of boneless chicken marinated in yogurt and spice and cooked over butter and cream. So I also order Cheese Naan to pair on this curry however the taste of the butter and cream is in contrast to the cheese. So it turns out coming back to the spinach dip left on the trio dip and this Chicken Makanwala was paired on rice instead.

Mango and Melon Lassi

Mango & Melon Lassi (₱120.00 each)

Their drinks are almost twice as the usual size we normally find in a resto. I can say that this yoghurt shake is worth more than its price! I super duper like the Mango Lassi. The taste and the texture are too perfect. I love the smoothness in every sip. If you go for an Iced Tea, no need for a bottomless for they serve it big as well. Well, their glass surprised me actually. =)

They also serve beer. Perfect for those who wants to chill out while enjoying their shawarma and curries.

As what I’ve mentioned, it is a certified HALAL. So our Muslim friends are very much welcome.

I like their interiors which makes the surroundings looks lively as well as their theme. The mixture of green and purple looks very relaxing and comfortable. The place is too cold which makes me feel sleepy right after eating. It makes me wanna stay a little bit longer for a nap. Clean and such a nice ambiance all in all.

The restaurant is located in front and very accessible. For those with their own vehicle, you can park right in front of the restaurant. For those who will commute, Jazz Mall is very accessible to public transportation.

I had eaten here how many times already and they even recognized me. Eating here comes with a good customer service experience. Waiters are very kind, quick, efficient and accommodating. You can easily approach them and they will surely give you a smile. They also suggests their best sellers and a must try foodie. They also check on their customers to ask about the food and your needs.

Considering their servings are huge, price quoted are not bad.

Taste – 4/5
Ambiance – 4/5
Service – 4/5
Price – 4/5
Overall Value – 4/5

Hmmm, there’s The Great Kabab Factory in Bangkok, Thailand too. It’s not the same of course cuz 1. it has Great in it and 2. spelled kabab not kebab. Also it serves purely Indian food…kababs are Indian/Pakistan versions and not the typical Middle Eastern ones.

If I’m in Malaysia next time, will try this place as you should when you visit Bangkok and give em a review.

Interesting to see that there are similar named restaurants around the world.
